TO THE POINTE: Under the tutelage of Sandra Balestracci, twenty one dance students from the Eastern Virginia School for the Performing Arts have been accepted to some of the top summer dance intensive programs around the country. The students are from the following counties: Williamsburg, Newport News, Yorktown, Surry, Poquoson, Smithfield, Chesapeake, Gloucester and Virginia Beach. Alessandra Hamlin, accepted at Khaatsbaan, American Ballet Theater and Boston Ballet. Kelly Oakes, accepted at American Ballet Theater and Austin Ballet. Chelsea Langevin, accepted at Khaatsbaan, Boston Ballet and N.C. School for the Arts Meredith Jones, accepted at Boston Ballet and Cary Ballet Conservatory. Caroline Saur, accepted at Boston Ballet, Atlanta Ballet and Nutmeg Ballet. Graham Winn, Received full scholarship at the Boston Ballet. Kendall Winn, accepted at San Francisco Ballet, School of American Ballet (NYC) and Boston Ballet. Lauren Thompson, accepted at American Ballet Theatre Alexandra Still, accepted at American Ballet Theater, Kirov Academy and Nutmeg Ballet Blake Robinson, accepted at Alvin Ailey, American Ballet Theater and Kirov Academy Jessica Derrick, accepted at NC School for the Arts and Atlanta Ballet. Liana Carpio, Emily Barth, Molly Semes, Melissa Temple, Elizabeth Morgan, Alexa Hinrichs, Rachel Corrigan, Anita Avilia, Madison Hom, Joy Fan, were all accepted at NC Cary Ballet Conservatory. |
