Enrichment Programs

The Enrichment Classes are designed to offer students varied disciplines in a more relaxed class environment. Classes focus on enrichment and recreation and will permit a student more flexibility in developing their own dance experince. We offer the following classes for teens and adults:

Ballet

If you have danced for many years or wish to indulge yourself in a lifelong dream, this is your opportunity. Beginner and intermediate levels provide the same information received in the career track program but without the intensity.

Modern Dance

Classes are designed to explore movement and develop self-expression. Students dance barefoot and learn the fundamentals of technique designed to increase flexibility and strength and to develop rhythmic sensitivity.

Jazz

The EVSPA jazz classes offer training in basic jazz techniques, terminology, placement, and styles. Dynamic weekly combinations encouraging quick reflexes, memory and coordination present a challenging yet fun environment for all ages.

Tap

Classes offer training in basic tap technique, terminology, placement, stretching, rhythm and good posture. Routines are developed throughout the year.

Body Sculpting

This class is designed for a full body workout that focus’s on the toning and strengthening the various muscle groups. This is an excellent workout for both the professional dancer and the hobby dancer.

Middle Eastern Dance
Middle Eastern Dance (Beginner I): In this class, you will learn proper posture, basic belly dance moves, and an introduction to the basic rhythms of Arabic music. This is a perfect opportunity to see if Belly dancing is right for you.

Middle Eastern Dance (Advanced Beginner): In this class, you will learn traveling with your basic moves. As well as refining your skills, you will learn to dance with props and learn various traditional and contemporary combinations. You will also learn how to recognize and effectively apply combinations to the appropriate music.

Middle Eastern Dance (Intermediate): This class is designed for the advanced dancer and involves layering the basic moves, choreography and mastering the effective use of props. You will also learn about proper stage presence.

American Tribal Style Belly Dancing: This class is only for dancers that are very comfortable with basic belly dance moves. You will learn common dance vocabulary enabling you to follow cues initiated by the designated leader and make seamless transitions to new movements which in turn creates improvisational choreographies. American Tribal style or “ATS” focuses heavily on the dancers dancing with each other. In performances, all members of the Tribe will have to “lead”.
