| JANE WOOD SMITH began her ballet training in Ireland and continued with the Washington School of Ballet. While with the Geneva Ballet, she performed in several productions and rehearsed with George Balanchine in Symphony in C and Western Symphony. While working toward her degree from the Dept. of Ballet at the University of Utah, she joined the Ballet West company. As principal dancer, she danced the title roles in Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake. Ms. Smith has worked with such notable choreographers as Ben Stevenson, Val Caniparoli, and Michael Smuin. She has taught for the Ballet West Conservatory and many other schools in Utah, Arizona, and Texas. |
